"It's All About Me Now"

About me! When I started playing baseball years ago no one ever told me that I should learn to play baseball the right way or that it would require that I get a personal trainer. The reason why I'm sharing my story with you is because if you don't get the right training you want be able to compete at the next level of baseball.

You see it's not all about me I have a passion for baseball and love to share information with mom's, dad's, parents and baseball players at all levels to help you to develop your baseball skills and learn how to play baseball the right way.

This is also, one of the reasons why I love Site Build it (SBI) the internet provider that training me on how to build this web site the right way so that I can provide you with the information you need 2-Create-A-Baseball-Player or to play the game of baseball the right way.

It's like teaching you all the secrets to playing baseball if you have a passion for it, SBI teaches you how to build your own website block-by-block just like the 5 levels of baseball where baseball players with a passion start at the little league level then build their way to the

professional baseball Level.

This website is not about me, it's about you and how you should never let your environment define who you are or what you should become in life. If you have a passion to play baseball with a dream to play at the professional level prepare yourself and train the right way with a personal baseball trainer and don't let anyone discourage you to the point that you give up on your dreams, desires, goals, passion and plans to play baseball.

Believe me people will try to steal your dreams from you if you let them. This website is not about me it's all about sharing information with you and to motivate you to never give up on your dreams. Because I know from my own personal experience that when you don't quite and keep pushing forward good thing will happen for you just like it did for me.

My Life Story and Sports...

I'm just sharing a small part of my life with you about me and will be making recommendations on things that you should do throughout my website about playing baseball the right way and what it will take to become a baseball player.

By-the-way my name is Keith...I played baseball, football, basketball and ran track at the little league, middle school and high school level, but I only played football once I got to college.

I'm going to share a little bit of my life experiences with you as I travel through my live beginning at the age of 8 into college then pro-football. It's all about me now, but I'm going to skip over my little league years and start with high school and move forward. The one thing I'm going to say to you about little league baseball is that you should get a personal baseball trainer to train you the right way through college and into the pro's.

Growing Up...

I was told by my so call friends, teachers, some family members and others that I was to small too play sports and that I would not be able to play at the high school, college or pro level.

As a high school sophomore (West Jefferson High School) I became the starting quarterback on the varsity football team and on the baseball team I was second team SS/3B and on the varsity basketball second team point-guard and I also ran the 4x4 relay on the track team third leg for one year.

High School to College...

As my junior year of high school can to an end I remember asking my high school advisor about going to college to study engineering and his answer was that "You should study physical education or general studies". He said my grades were not good enough and that I would never become an engineer.

All the put-downs didn't stop there! During that same period of time my "Mother" had a male friend who worked in the high school math department. He was my math teacher as well, so my mother decided to tell him about my plans for college.

His comment to her was that "Keith will never be an engineer". He should study something else like physical education the very same exact thing that my high school advisor had suggested to me.

This is why I always tell people if you're not careful and you listen to other people opinions of who you should be or what you should do it can and will change the outcome of your whole life if you listen to them. Don't let others define who you should become in life. If my mother and I had listened to those people I would not be in the position I'm in today.

It's All About You - My Mother Told Me...

What my mother so call friend had suggested to her about me was correct based on his perception of me. She ask for his opinion and he gave it to her, but my mother also told me to never let anyone define who you should be or tell you what you can't do in this world. People will steal your passion and dreams from you if you let them.

So, by this time I'm now a Junior in high school and the star quarterback and shortstop/3B on the baseball team. Then, something happen that changed my life forever. During my junior year of high school my girlfriend got pregnant and the colleges stop recruiting me, sending letters or talking to the coaches about me.

I knew then that the colleges were backing away from me because of my girlfriend getting pregnant and their perception of me as a college football player had changed. But, for me this was just another setback that I would have to overcome.

It's all about me, don't let anyone define who you are, tell you that you're too small to play sports or just because you made a mistake or your girlfriend is going to have a baby that you stop dreaming or working toward your dreams to play baseball or go to college to get an education.

If I can do it so can you! Just be determined and don't let anything or anyone stop you from achieving your goals in life. OK!

Everyone Told Me Not To Get Married

Some of my friends and family members told me not to get married, but it was all about me, my girlfriend (Cherrie) and the baby (La'Keisha), so I didn't listen to what they had to say about me. At 17 years old I told my mother that I wanted to get married because it was the right thing to do. I used the same principles that was taught to me in sports to do things the right way will pay off. Just like learning to play baseball the right way will pay off for you.

Monday Morning

My girlfriend and I both stayed home from school and my Mother, Mother-In-law, youngest sister (Gaynell) who worked at the court house and my nephew (Byron) who was only about 2 years old we all went down to the court house and my girlfriend and I got married at the court house "Justice of The Peace" and we're still married today after 36 years.

At the time when we got married we was only 17 years old with a baby girl on the way and the only people that supported our marriage was my Mother, sisters, brothers, mother-in-law, father-in-law, some friends, some family members, my wife and myself.

One of the things that I remember to this day about getting married that day was the look on my little brother (Tyrone) face once he found out that I had gotten married. He always looked up to me and he also played quarterback on the second team behind me as a freshmen on the varsity football team and he could throw a football 70 yards at the age of 14 years old and was also a pretty good baseball player at 1st base as well.

Growing Up - Determine To Make It

Determine to make something of myself without a father figure in my life. Do you know what it's like to say "Daddy can I have a dollar" to get something to eat or drink after a baseball or football game?

I don't know what it's feels like to say the words "DADDY can I have a dollar", because he was never in my life for me to ask that question. Thank GOD for my mother, sisters, brothers, grand-mother, grand-father and my step-father who came into my life when I was a teenager, thanks for being there for my mother and the rest of my brother and sisters.

Also, thanks to all my family and true friends, all my little league, high school and college coaches, special thanks to coach Peterson (Middle School), special thanks to coach La'Touf (High School), special thanks to coach Jackson (College), and teachers who encouraged me along the way encouraging me to continue to work hard no matter how many times you get knock down to get back up or if one door shut in your face keep knocking until the door open. Believe me if I can do it so can you!

Daddy Can I Have a Dollar

To those of you who have a father living with you can you imagine what it's like not to say the words "Daddy can I have"... I don't know what it's like or how it feels, because my father was never there for me. But that's ok, because I'm always there for my children, grandchildren and it make me feel so good when I hear my daughter or son just say the word "Daddy" or ask me for anything period.

The reason why I'm talking about this is because, one day I was setting on the couch watching a baseball game on TV and my son came into the room and said, "Daddy can I have some money to go with my friends to the mall".

It was at that instant and for the first time in my life that I realized that I had never used those words "Daddy Can I Have"... That's when it hit me like a lightning rod that I had never asked my "Daddy" for anything.

And it made me feel very good that I was always there for my daughter-cheering lessons and my son-little league, middle school, and high school football and baseball games and college baseball games.

I'm going to say this to you again; people will steal your dreams from you if you listen to them, so follow your own dreams and passions no matter what others may have to say about you.

How do people steal your dreams?

It's about me have you ever told someone that you're going too do something or become a professional baseball player or become an engineer one day. Then they say to you "Keith" you're to small to play baseball or you don't know how to hit a baseball or you can't play baseball or you're not smart enough to be an engineer.

You see if people can't support your dreams and they only point out all the negative things about why you can't do something that's trying to steal your dreams from you by making you change your mind. If you let them change your mind about playing baseball or becoming an engineer this is how people steal your dreams from you. "Don't let anyone do that to you".

Married As A High School Junior

I didn't stop dreaming after getting married as a High School Junior and all the colleges stop recruiting me.

By the end of the summer after my high school senior year I did not have one college scholarship offers and I was planning to join the military. But, my uncle (Alfried) found out about my plans and convince me to try college for one year, before making a decision to join the military.

He told me that college would be the best experience and years of my life and boy was he right. Going to college was the best thing that I could have ever done and until this day I thank him for motivating me to give it a try. And I'm going to tell you the same thing college will be the best years and experiences of your life.

My Middle School and Life Long Friend

During that same summer after my senior year of high school and after I had that talk with my uncle my middle school and life time, childhood friend "Greg" stopped by my house and told me he had gotten a college football scholarship to play football at some college named (Nicholls State University) I had never heard of that college before but it was only one hour away from our home town down in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

I'm not sure if he had ever heard of this college himself, before they called him. But, they told my friend if he knew of someone that wanted to play football to bring them down with him and they would take a look at them during two-of-day football practice, so I decided to go with him.

Once I made the football team I tried to get a release to play both football and baseball, but the football coaches refused to release me to play baseball because I had signed a football scholarship.

During my first three years of college I sat the bench and played on special teams like the punt return and kick off team and they would play me at right or left corner-back or free safety every now and then during the games if we were win or losing very bad.

A College Senior Now

As a senior in college at (Nicholls State University) I became team caption and starting right corner-back and free-safety ending my college football career ranked as one of the nation's top defensive back in the country with 7 interceptions, nominated to Who Is Who in America, nominated as Academic All-American and was All-Louisiana second team as a defensive back. I still say that I should have been first team All-Louisiana because I had the most interceptions that year in the state.

How about that for someone who was in married in high school at 17 years old and s was not recruited. Who was told that he was not smart enough to get a college degree, told he was to small too play college football or professional football because he was only 5'11'' 170 lbs.

Going Pro

By not listening to others and by not letting others define who I was going to be in life and by following my own passions and dreams I managed to get married, play college football, get two college degrees at the same time, and got several calls from my agent to participated in personal football work-outs with several professional football teams Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys.

Other teams that show interest in me during and after my college career was over: Tam Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Sea Harks and Atlanta Falcons

About Me, Graduating From College

I graduated from college with two degrees A.S Petroleum Safety and B.S. Petroleum Engineering Services. In the end my mother and wife would get the last laugh. After, my college graduation I gave both degrees to my mother, so that everyone who visits her home could see them. So, that they could tell their children that your environment should never dictate who you are, where you're going or what you can do or become in life.

By-the-way remember my mothers' friend the one I talked about earlier. My mother showed my degrees to him my high school, math teacher to let him know it was all about me, you know the one who told her that I would never get a degree in engineering.

My mother and step-father is not with us anymore but they got to see everything that I promise them that I would do before they left this earth except for one thing and I'm still working on that as you read about me.

Thanks to SBI who teaches people like you and I how to put together a website like this one and you don't need any website building experience or need to know HTML or code at all to build your own website because SBI understand that it's all about me and your passion to success in life.

P.S.

About me - To day I'm a Senior Pipeline Engineer for a top Engineering Consultant Firm. Not bad for someone who was told that he was not smart enough to become an engineer? You see everyone who tried to manipulate my mother and wife while I was in college and told my mother that I would not make it through college I was able to prove them all wrong. It was about me and I did not let them define who I would become or steal my passions and dreams from me.

You see my website is not about me it's all about getting you to stay focus on your passions and dreams or playing baseball and to help you make your dreams come true.

It's not about me but it is about you getting a personal baseball trainer because it's important to your success if you want to play baseball the right way and make it to the next level of baseball.
