Baseball Hitting Drills
Their are several baseball hitting drills you can use to get some hitting work done. However, the drill you always hear professional baseball players talk about is hitting off a hitting-tee. Why? Because working off a tee allows you to concentrate on those things needing correction from a hitting stand point. Use
baseball hitting drills
to break bad batting habits by working off a batting-tee which will allow you to work on your batting mechanics for all types of pitches thrown. I'm one of those people who believes if your body is very still while at the plate your chances of getting a hit and raising your batting average is greater and you will become a more consistent hitter at the plate as will. Why? because keeping your body totally still your eyes can focus correctly on the ball as it moves toward you and you will see the baseball better as it moves closer toward you and the plate. Their are very few professional players who have a lot of movement while at the plate and can still hit the baseball consistently. Learning to hit a baseball consistently should be your passion "always" seek out those who can teach you more about "how to hit a baseball consistently". Here are some of the things you should work on by yourself and include in your daily hitting drills when working off a hitting tee or you may want to seek out a
personal hitting trainer
to train you the right way.
Some hitting tips are listed for you below! - Make sore that you have good balance at the plate so that you're not falling over the plat backward when swinging at a pitch
- Your front leg and foot stride forward without lunging or moving your body forward
- Getting front foot down on the ground all the way down and not on your toe before the ball reaches the strike zone
- Your front foot should land on the ground close and pointing toward first base if you bat right handed and pointing toward the left foul line if you hit left handed
- Your Hands should be about chest to ear level high and relaxed with bat pointing at about a 45 degree angel toward the back of the head just like it's shown on the major league baseball logo and not on your shoulder
- You should transfer your weigh from the back leg side to the front leg side on contact with the baseball
- As your front foot land on the ground your hands should load backward then forward to make contact with the baseball
- Your eyes should be on the ball all the way to the bat with your head down on the ball through out your swing and you should finish your swing above the shoulder with two hand on the bat.
- You should work on all the above tips doing your baseball hitting drills
